Since single parents have already a family to attend to, their time for socializing is being substituted for the parent's time to attend to other affairs, such as taking care of the children, or cleaning up the house, ding household chores, or by attending work after or before school. However, a single parent's social life is increased just by interacting with people at work and in school, which helps increase their social skills and establish social ties with different people in the same degree and manner with that of single college students.
